Laws and Passages
A new law takes effect in Mississippi allowing certified acupuncturists to practice in the state.
"House Bill 458 authorizes, for the first time, the practice of acupuncture in Mississippi - making this the 44th state to recognize acupuncture as a licensed treatment. Acupuncturists may perform the treatment for a patient only if the patient has a written referral or prescription from a physician."
Also a recent pioneer, Miriam Lee, who helped pass legislation in California for acupuncture practice in that state has died at 82.
